Join us on May Day in Raleigh!

Come out for International Workers Day on May 1st!

May Day was born over 120 years ago to commemorate the 1886 Haymarket Massacre in Chicago when police shot workers who were striking to establish the eight-hour workday and the right to organize and prohibit child labor.

For FLOC members, May Day has special relevance this year as we prepare to grow our union by 5,000 members this summer.  120 years after the Haymarket Massacre, we continue to struggle for the guaranteed right to organize without fear of retaliation and for the eradication of child labor, especially in the North Carolina tobacco supply chain.

Join FLOC and our brothers and sisters at NC Raise Up, UE local 150-NC Public Service Workers Union, NC Justice Center, and others as we exercise our right to Organize the South!

Meet in Raleigh at 6 PM at the Wake County Courthouse, 316 Fayetteville St., for a march to the NC Budget Office and closing rally at the State Capitol building.
