Farm Labor Organizing Committee, AFL-CIO
There are many ways to support the FLOC movement in your community.
For example, the Detroit FLOC Support Committee raised $800 for the FLOC Convention
with a fun BBQ and a concert of folk and jazz music.
FLOC has a large vision for social changing socioeconomic structures to promote justice for migrant workers... but limited resources to achieve this vision. Our direct income is based on migrant agricultural workers, who have limited wages and work for perhaps 6-12 weeks out of the years. The dues base will never be enough to sustain and expand the FLOC movement.
On the other hand, we continually have essential needs. We are always short of essential staff to get all the work done. The organizers we do have on staff sacrifice higher-paying job opportunities to follow their commitments, and they have to drive thousands of miles a year addressing farmworkers' needs in the fields and labor camps. We have to produce training materials to help migrant workers understand their rights, and to make travel arrangements for workers to participate in leadership development activities. We have to pay rent and utilities for our offices in Ohio, N.C., and Mexico. Our limited resources are the main factor that keeps us from doing more in the struggle for migrant justice.
So helping resources is one critical area where supporters can make a significant difference for justice. We need your help!
There are many creative ways that our supporters have made a critical difference for FLOC over the years:
Donations
Helping support FLOC financially gives us the most flexibility to meeting specific needs like staff and gasoline. You can give both as an individual and as an organization. Tax-deductible donations can be sent to our partner the Campaign for Migrant Worker Justice in two ways:

There are also other kinds of donations:
You can donate equipment and furnishings, such as computers, office furniture, etc. (Please consider that if items are out-of-date or in poor condition, it will cost us more than we can afford to refurbish them.)
You can also donate us your time and skills by volunteering to help with general tasks and specific campaigns. See Get Invovled.
Local Fundraising Activities
Local supporters have been creative over the years in organizing activities to raise funds for FLOC, often in conjunction with other activities. Some of these activities include:
Let us know what activities you organize, so we can pass these ideas on to other supporters!
Thank you for your support! It has always been the commitments and efforts of our supporters that have made our victories possible. As we continue the struggle for justice, we know we can count on you as we face new challenges and victories together.
